Maria Anna Kreienbaum, Katja Gramelt et al. (Hrsg.): IKO-Verlag für Interkulturelle Kommunikation. Frankfurt a.M., London2002.

On the occasion of a study project, authors from Germany and Zambia enter into a dialogue about the problems of formal and non-formal education in the “Third World”.

In this book, ‚education as a challenge‘ needs to be understood in two respects:

On the one hand, as the challenge which is caused by the general living conditions and the educational system in one of the poorest countries of the world, which is so badly affected by HIV. On the other hand, as the challenge which lays in handling with this subject on a theoretical level as much as a practical one by going to the country on an educational journey.

The central concern of this publication is global learning: appreciating and understanding the work and situation of the Zambian people as well as questioning how to deal with the own insights.

Below, you find a choice of texts collected in the book.
